Comes with decoupling caps for the chip, current-set potentiometer, current-limit resistor and 16 onboard LEDs to get instant light without wiring up external LEDs. Ideal for debugging code. Any microcontroller can talk to it using an SPI-like protocol. The MBI5030 requires a high-frequency grayscale clock for its internal counter. It works nicely with an AVR supplying its system clock of 16MHz using the CLOCK-OUT pin.
