Anyhow, I found this solar-eclipse-kit in the cellar and attempted to shoot a few photos.

Beware, the photos are pretty bad. Shooting through binoculars is a horrible thing without a proper camera adapter. The exit pupil of the ocular is very tiny, the slightest bit of misalignment kills the image.
