		<description>I didn&#039;t mean to say I&#039;d kill the chips with the hot-air-station. I just think my demand for removing chips isn&#039;t high enough to justify the expenses for such a device.</description>

you don&#039;t kill anything using a hot-air-station if you are using it the right way.
I always use it to solder and desolder any kind of smd. I never killed something with hot-air.</description>

thanks for your reply about the 74HCT595 on watterott.net. I&#039;m not 100% sure at the moment but this chip might deliver enough current for my project :-D.

Anyhow I think I&#039;ll order one of your 64-pixel kits next month. This should be the right challenge for my while having my annual holidays.</description>

		<description>I can only recommend you to get an hot air reworking station. you can get them in germany for about 100-150€. And the fun to just blow off the chips is unbeaten (and much easier)!</description>
